Never thought of this but it makes sense – these watering devices flow more water to the edges than the centers since the ends go around faster than the center does.

I remember it used to rain every day around 4:00 for about an hour.  We would come home from fishing wet from the rain and play in the creek.  Christopher Creek Cabins.
